According to the embodiment, a light emitting device includes a first electrode, a light emitting layer arranged on the first electrode, an organic electroluminescent device, a driving circuit which drives the organic electroluminescent device by supplying a driving current between the first and the second electrode, and a driving stop circuit which stop the driving of the organic electroluminescent device when the value of the driving current is lower than a preset value.
