<p>A connection assembly 1, for connecting a downhole tool to coiled tubing, having a top subÂassembly 13 that can be passed over the tube, a gripper 4 in the form of a collet 40 to grip the outside of a tube 3 when compressed, a sealing ring 3, adapted to seal against the end face of the tube, a bottom sub-assembly 24 having an abutment face for the sealing ring; and where the two sub-assemblies can be held together to trap the gripper between them. The connection assembly is located within a hydraulic jig which exerts a compressive load between the sealing ring housing 34 and the top-sub lock nut 18; the compressive force on the collet thereby gripping the tube 3 and effecting a seal, and to cause said gripper to grip the outer surface of the tube. The compressive load may then be released.</p> |
