An apparatus is provided for distributing fluid material and more particularly one which makes it possible for the user to select different means of distribution and different kinds of material, for example, different kinds of paints. It consists of a source of the fluid material, means for distributing it, a first pipe for carrying the fluid from source to distributor head, a source of fluid propulsion under pressure, a second pipe connecting the propulsion source to the fluid material source so as to circulate it towards the distribution means and a valves for controlling the rate of flow of fluid through the first pipe. This valve provides a fine control of the distribution and consists of a body enclosing a cylindrical dowel and pierced by a channel, an intermediate part of which intersects the cylindrical dowel. There is also a piston pierced by a transverse opening which adjusts itself to rotate in the dowel in which it moves axially. It has a primary axial position in which it blocks the intermediate part of the channel so as to close the valve independently of its angular position and it has means of moving the piston into this position. It can also be displaced axially to a second axial position against the force exerted by the piston-moving means and can be rotated, in this second position to open the valve in a variable controlled manner. |
