A method for driving a BLDC motor comprising at least three stator windings (U, V, W), comprising: a) determining a time period (T1), and energizing during the time period (T1) two of the windings (V, W) and leaving a third winding (U) un-energized, based on a first motor state (MST4); b) measuring a first voltage (v1) representative for the back-EMF generated in the un-energized winding (W) shortly before expiry of the time period (T1); c) applying a commutation (C1) at expiry of the current time period (T1); d) measuring a second voltage (v2) shortly after the commutation (C1), and calculating a subsequent time period (T2); e) repeating steps b) and c). An electrical circuit (1) and a controller (3) are provided for performing these methods. |
