PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover opening/closing mechanism for an analysis apparatus in which an opening/closing cover can be stationary at any position. SOLUTION: A cover opening/closing mechanism for an analysis apparatus includes a housing having an opening, a cover which is rotated around a rotation axis in a horizontal direction to open/close the opening, and a gas spring the proximal end of which is mounted to the housing and the distal end of which is mounted to the cover. On a surface vertical to the rotation axis, in the area held between a straight line passing through a rotation center of the cover and the center of gravity position at a full closing position of the cover and a straight line passing through the rotation center and the center of gravity position at a full opening position of the cover, a proximal end fixing position is provided within an area including a position just under the rotation center, and a distal end fixing position is provided approximately on a straight line of a half straight line passing through the center of gravity position with the base point at the rotation center. A total value of a torque value based on a dead weight of the cover and a torque value based on an elastic reaction force of the gas spring is set within the range of a torque value based on a static frictional force of the gas spring operating in both elongation and contraction directions.
