The present invention relates to a composition for promoting differentiation of adult stem cell which includes indenone derivatives or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, to a method for promoting differentiation from the adult stem cell into muscle cells, fat cells, or osteoclast which includes a step of culturing the adult stem cell under the presence of the composition, to a composition for reproducing muscles or fat tissues which includes the composition as an active ingredient, to a composition for preventing or treating muscle diseases, to a composition for preventing or treating fat deficiency diseases, to a composition for preventing or treating osteoclast deficiency diseases, and to a method for screening candidate substances which suppresses or induces differentiation of muscle cells, fat cells, or osteoclast of the adult stem cell which comprises the steps of: culturing the adult stem cell in a medium including the composition; processing the medium with candidate substances; and checking differentiation into the muscle cells, fat cells, or osteoclast before and after processing the candidate substances.
