The present invention relates to a device and a method for correcting the steering torque of an electric power steering device capable of weighting the weight feeing of steering torque which a driver feels by increasing a sub steering force while turning at a high speed. The present invention provides the device for correcting the steering torque of the electric power steering device includes a motor-driven power steering (MDPS) basic logic unit which receives the steering torque, a steering angle, and vehicle speed signals and performs the steering torque correction logic; a motor control logic unit which receives the steering correction torque calculated by the MDPS basic logic unit and drives a motor; a turning-drive determining unit which receives the steering torque, the steering angle, and yaw rate signals including the vehicle speed signals and determines the turning-drive at a high speed; and a turning-drive torque correction unit which receives turning-drive determination signals of the turning-drive determination unit and calculates the steering correction torque while turning at a high speed.
