The present invention relates to a device for controlling a rear camera for a vehicle and a method thereof. The control method includes a step of allowing a control unit to receive detection signals from a sensor when a shift lever is shifted into a reverse position and a step of controlling the illumination angle of the rear camera by controlling an angle control unit according to the detection signals.
