Provided is an information processing apparatus which performs cellular-structure network calculations, the information processing apparatus being capable of asynchronous operation and configurable with a simple circuit. The information processing apparatus has a network structure composed of node units, wherein each of the node units is provided with: a state value holding means which holds a phase state value; a state advancing means which increases the phase state value with time at a constant phase speed; a trigger generating means which, when the phase state value has reached a predetermined maximum value, outputs a trigger and resets the phase state value to the initial value thereof; and a state updating means which, when the node unit adjacent to the above node unit has outputted a trigger, updates the phase state value by changing, in accordance with the relative position of the adjacent node unit with respect to the above node unit, a current value of the phase state value to another value obtained by adding a predetermined multiple of the current value to the current value. |
