Use of block copolymer polyalkylene oxides as friction modifiers in synthetic lubricating materials

Use of a block copolymer containing at least a block of aromatic oxyalkylene groups and a block of non-aromatic oxyalkylene groups as a friction-reducing additive, is claimed. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a composition of at least one block copolymer together with at least one antioxidant; and (2) a lubricant formulation containing block copolymers in a synthetic base oil or synthetic lubricant.
