<p>Anti-slip strip for carpets on smooth or polished floors is made of cardboard, felt board, p.v.c. etc. itself coated both sides so as to stick both the floor and to the carpet. This prevents accidents or crumpling of the carpet. The strip, whose thickness is a few millimetres merely, is slid in between carpet and floor. The strip is made or cored in cardboard, plastics etc. and then coated on both sides with polyester foam or rubberised cloth, rubber or other anti-slip composition. The pattern of the coating may be honeycomb, wavy etc. as convenient or attractive. The coatings on either side may be identical or differ, chiefly depending on the material of floor and carpet respectively.. Preferably the strip should be slightly smaller in area than the carpet for purposes of concealment. It is also possible to produce the core by coating both outer coatings with material to provide requisite stiffness, specifically two polyester foam layers are treated with a setting agent and then simply laid one on the other to enclose the core between.</p> |
