The fork has a one-way circuit (20) comprising two one-way valves (21, 22), where one of the valves is arranged at a piston (15) for allowing a flow of a damping medium (11) i.e. magneto-rheological fluid, from one chamber (17) into another chamber (16). The other valve is arranged at a transfer duct (19) for allowing a flow of the damping medium from the duct into the former chamber such that a plunging of a piston rod (14) into a damper chamber (12) and a retraction of the piston rod out of the damper chamber to be selectively controlled by an adjustable throttle valve (13) are enabled.
