A disposable cutting tool insert has at the intersection of its top and bottom faces with its side faces a plurality of cutting edges 2, 4, 6 and 8 at least one 8 of which, but not all, is provided with a chamber 10. The chamber 10 is a flat surface which forms an angle of between 10-45 degrees with the top face of the insert. Recesses 12 and 14 are provided in the top and bottom so that a raised surface portion 16 is provided adjacent the cutting edges. The insert, which is indexable, is secured by a pin 26 in a tool holder 20 engaging a hole 28 in the insert. The insert is made of cemented carbide. |
