<p>The frame, which can be with or without a window, is secured in place by a stud connected through a solder connection to the fuse. When the fuse blows, the solder melts, and the retaining pin is loosened. Counterweights come into play and through a linkage the frame is opened to release any gasses, and a braking effect is provided by nylon or similar inserts so that the violent action is dissipated and no damage occurs. Designed for major fuse box installations so that when a fuse blows the cover opends to release any gases, and it will open even if there are natural resistances such as snow or wind pressure, but can also be opened by hand for inspection.</p> |
