The device (1) has a fan wheel arranged in a fan housing (3), and a motor for driving the fan wheel. A control unit actuates the motor and processes device-specific parameters of the device. A housing is provided with a mounting slot for a communication interface module. A contact point is arranged in the mounting slot for the data-communicating connection of the interface module to the control unit. The interface module has a physical interface for connecting a cable or consists of a wireless interface. A flexible connection hose (22) connects the device and a head piece (21) to one another. An independent claim is also included for a blower filter system.
