[Also in Division D1] A composition used in the treatment of glass fibres comprises an elastomeric polyurethane, an end-blocked diisocyanate and an organosilane in solution in an organic solvent, e.g. methyl ethyl ketane or methylisobutylketane. The end-blocked diisocyanate may be phenol endblocked tolylene diisocyante, bis phenol endblocked methylene bis (4-phenyl isocyanate) or a bisulphite end-blocked diisocyanate and the organosilane may be a silane having three hydrolyzable groups, e.g. halogen or alkoxy groups, and an organo portion such as gammaaminopropyl, delta aminobutyl and N-(betaamino ethyl) gamma-aminopropyl. |
