A self-aligning bearing 15, Fig. 6, having convex and spherical surfaces is received in an outer member 10, having concave and spherical surfaces, the assembly being facilitated by means of a removable key 13. In assembling the bearing into the outer member 10, the key 13 is removed, the bearing 15 is inserted in the member 10, the key 13 is then replaced, and the bearing is rotated until its flat sides 15a, 15b are parallel to the flat sides of the outer member 10. The cross-section of the key may be in the form of a dovetail or may be circular. |
