The present invention relates to a power storage system and a control method thereof comprising a battery; a power management system which is connected to the battery; a plurality of switches which connects at least one of an internal load, a battery, a system, and an external load of the power management system; and a controller which receives the information for the power usage costs of the system and the information for the remaining capacity of the battery. The controller determines whether or not one of the power of the battery or the power of the system is applied to the external load and/or the internal load of the power management system based on the information.
