A terminal according to the present invention includes a user input unit, a memory unit, and a control unit. The control unit stores text such as a user ID and a password in the memory unit according to a user designated pattern. When a user inputs a pattern using a pattern input method of the input unit, the control unit searches for text corresponding to the pattern inputted by the user and enables the user to input the text in a text box which the user wants. According to the present invention, a user can input complicated text such as a user ID and a password more conveniently using a user designated pattern, instead of typing a keyboard. In addition, with a single input pattern, a user can input a plurality of sets of text in a plurality of text boxes which the user wants.
