The present invention relates to a backlight assembly prevented to be not affected by a light source due to a variation of a light guide plate. The backlight assembly according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a light guide plate; a light source formed on one side of the light guide plate to be spaced apart from the light guide plate; a circuit board for mounting the light source; and an opening unit which includes a buffer member formed between the light guide plate and the circuit board, wherein the buffer unit exposes the light source.
