The present invention provides a horizontal electric field type liquid crystal display which comprises: a first and a second substrate separated to face each other; a first electrode formed inside of the first substrate; a second electrode for generating an electric field in correspondence with the first electrode; and a liquid crystal layer which is formed between the first and the second substrate, and includes liquid crystal molecules restricted to a polymer network and a plurality of domains of the polymer network.
