The invention relates to a system and a method for monitoring, in real time, the friction stir welding process - FSW, employed in industrial activities, in the field of welded metallic constructions. According to the invention, the method consists in providing, in real time, information concerning the power consumption of an electric motor which rotates the FSW welding tool in all the stages of the welding process, namely: start, rotation - contact of the tool pin with the materials to be welded - contact of the tool shoulder with the materials to be welded - welding proper - completion of process and withdrawal of the tool from the welded joint. The system, as claimed by the invention, comprises a multimeter (5) with a data acquisition interface, a computer (6) having installed a special monitoring method-related software, as well as a monitor (7) and it can provide, based on the consumed current variation diagram, information concerning the process setting, the consistency of the programmed welding parameters as well as possible induced imperfections and/or faults, this diagram being used for the real-time analysis of the welded joint which is performed while permitting the correction of the technological welding parameters with a view to optimizing the value thereof.
|
