<p>A gasoline-based fuel composition with a sulfur content of not more than 150 ppm containing small amounts of fuel additive(s) (I) with a detergent or valve seat wear-inhibiting action, in which (I) contain hydrophobic hydrocarbon residue(s) with a number-average mol. wt. of 85-20000 and a polar group and the composition also contains 5-75 vol% lower alkanol(s). An independent claim is also included for a method for improving the efficacy of detergent or valve seat wear-inhibitor additives in low-sulfur fuel by adding a lower alcohol.</p> |
