A format classification type of the card is determined based on the data (202) read from the card (200). The card data (202) is mapped by decoding the data based on the format classification, allowing the mapped data to be recognised by the card reader. Further, the card reader receives payment data associated with the transport cost and adjusts the monetary value on the card based on the transaction data. The card reader may interact with the card wirelessly. |
