PURPOSE: A WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network) connecting device and an operation method thereof are provided to prevent exposure to personal information by determining a state of WLAN approval by using SNS(Social Network Service) login information. CONSTITUTION: When a portable terminal is wirelessly connected to a network, the portable terminal transmits data to the network. The WLAN connecting device connects the portable terminal to the network according to a wireless data communication protocol. An authentication server(300) receives the network connecting request of the portable terminal through the WLAN connecting device. The authentication server transmits a check-in screen to the portable terminal. The authentication server determines an input value of a user. The authentication server determines the connecting approval of the portable terminal.
