597053 Disclosed is a dry composition comprising (i) a bioactive microorganism or material, (ii) at least two stabilizer agents, and (iii) at least two protective agents, wherein the bioactive microorganism or material is selected from a cell, a microbe, a virus, a culture, a probiotic, a yeast, an algae, a protein, a recombinant protein, an enzyme, a peptide, a hormone, a vaccine, a drug, a vitamin, a mineral, a microbiocide, a fungicide, a herbicide, an insecticide or a spermicide; wherein the at least two stabilizer agents compnse a polysaccharide and an oligosaccharide; and wherein the at least two protective agents comprise a disaccharide and one or both of a protein and a protein hydrolysate. Further disclosed is a composition as described above wherein the bioactive microorganism or material comprises probiotic bacteria, the polysaccharide comprises sodium alginate, the oligosaccharide comprises inulin, the disaccharide comprises trehalose and said one or both of a protein and a protein hydrolysate comprises casein hydrolysate. |
