<p>The invention relates to a solid coagulant employed in the treatment of hydrocarbon-containing industrial waste water and to a process for preparing the same. According to the invention, the coagulant has the general formula MCl(HO), where Mrepresents Fe or Al. The process, as claimed by the invention, consists in treating the red waste resulting from alumina preparation with 5...10% acid solution of hydrochloric acid, for 30...120 min, at a temperature of 35...85°C, the resulting product being maintained for an ageing period of 3...7 days at the ambient temperature, to result in a basic hydrolyzed polymer supported on an activated natural zeolite material, the basic hydrolysis is continued with an alkaline solution of NaOH 0.1...1 M and a saturated solution of sodium carbonate up to a pH value of 5.5, after which the resulting partially soluble solid coagulating material is separated and dried for 4...16 h at a temperature of 50...58°C.</p> |
