<p>A therapeutically effective amount of deferiprone or deferasirox or physiologically acceptable salts thereof for the prevention, stabilization, treatment, or reversal of iron-induced FRDA disease in patients resulting from mitochondrial iron-induced damage to preferentially reduce the iron stores in the mitochondria.
