A cutting tool, e.g. a file or rasp, comprises a hollow elongate member 10 having walls 12 in which arcuate lips are formed, one set 14 facing towards one end and another set 16 facing the opposite way, and arranged in staggered rows, so that the tool can cut in any direction. The lips have sharpened edges (18), (20), (Fig. 4, not shown) and depressed portions (22) adjacent the lips to allow cuttings to pass through. The specification includes a number of embodiments in which the member 10 is made up of three, four, five and six sides joined together to provide a variety of cross-sectional configurations having right angular, acute or obtuse, inward or outward, sharp or rounded corners and straight or concave walls. |
