摘要 Disclosed is a meter for use in utility distribution system. The meter is comprised of one or more metrology sensors (402), a dynamic random access memory (DRAM) (412), a non-volatile random access memory (NVRAM) (414), a timer, a network interface (408) and a processor (404). The processor (404) is operably connected with the one or more metrology sensors (402), the DRAM (412), the NVRAM (414), the network interface (408) and the timer. The processor (404) is configured to receive metrology data from the one or more metrology sensors (402) and write at least part of the metrology data to the DRAM (412). The processor (404) is configured to then increment a write pointer indicating the location of the metrology data contained within the DRAM (412) and monitor the timer for the expiration of a pre-determined time period. Until the expiration of the pre-determined time period, the processor (404) receives and writes metrology data and upon expiration of the pre-determined time period, the processor (404) is configured to set the write pointer as a read pointer. The processor (404) is configured to then read at least a portion of the metrology data from the DRAM (412) up to an amount of metrology data as indicated by the read pointer. The processor (404) is also configured to write at least the portion of the metrology data read from the DRAM (412) to the NVRAM (414).
