597336 Disclosed is a method for selectively detecting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) forms greater than 110 amino acids (VEGF110+) in a biological sample, the forms including VEGF121, VEGF165, and longer isoforms, but not VEGF110, the method comprising the steps of: (a) contacting and incubating the biological sample with a capture reagent immobilized to a solid support, wherein the capture reagent comprises a 5C3 monoclonal antibody; (b) separating the biological sample from the immobilized capture reagents; (c) contacting the immobilized capture reagent-target molecule complex with a detectable antibody, wherein the detectable antibody is a A4.6.1 monoclonal antibody; and (d) measuring the level of VEGF110+ bound to the capture reagents using a detection means for the detectable antibody. Further disclosed is an immunoassay kit for selectively detecting VEGF110+ forms in a biological sample, the forms including VEGF121, VEGF165, and longer isoforms, but not VEGF110, the kit comprising: (a) as capture reagent, a 5C3 monoclonal antibody; and (b) as detection reagent, a A4.6.1 monoclonal antibody. Further disclosed is an antibody 5C3 obtained from or produced by hybridoma 5C3.1.1 deposit number PTA-7737 or a hybridoma thereof. |
