PURPOSE: A method for calculating the capacity of multiple energy storage devices is provided to calculate an optimal, stable, and economical energy capacity when connecting an intermittent power generation system to a power system. CONSTITUTION: An objective function for calculating the optimal capacity of multiple energy storage devices is defined(S21). The optimal capacity is calculated(S23) in order to satisfy the constraints on the sums of the output power and output energy(S22) by considering the limiting conditions of a ramp rate required in the power system connection.
