COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR THE TREATMENT OF BREAST CANCER

The present invention relates to a method for treatment of breast cancer and to a method for inhibiting the proliferation of breast cancer tissue. The method for treatment of breast cancer comprises joint administration to a female in need thereof a breast cancer tissue proliferation-suppressing dose of a CDB-1424 compound and an effective amount of aromatase inhibitor selected from anastrozole, letrozole and DL-aminoglutethimide. The method for inhibiting the proliferation of breast cancer tissue, comprising the step of simultaneously contacting said breast cancer tissue with an aromatase inhibitor selected from the group consisting of anastrozole, letrozole and DL-aminoglutethimide in a proliferation-suppressing amount of the CDB-1424 compound. The invention provides synergistic chemico-therapeutical action in the treatment of breast cancer.
