PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter capable of exerting pushability according to push-in load.SOLUTION: A balloon catheter 1 comprises a distal-side shaft member 14, a proximal shaft 21. The distal-side member 14 includes a distal shaft 22, and an inner shaft 12. The proximal shaft is formed of a material with rigidity higher than that of a material of the distal shaft 22, and the proximal shaft 21 has a core wire 26 fixed to an inner peripheral surface thereof. The distal-side portion of the core wire 26 is formed to be tapered towards the tip end and is located at an inflation lumen 25. The distal-side shaft member 14 has a metal ring 27 fixed to the inside thereof such that the metal ring comes into contact with the core wire 26. Sliding resistance of the metal ring 27 to the core wire 26 is larger than sliding resistance of the distal shaft 22 and larger than sliding resistance of the distal-side shaft member 14. |
