PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel desktop hydrogen gas generator in which various defects in a prior art such as problems of downsizing and portability.SOLUTION: A desktop hydrogen gas generator 1 includes: an electrolysis plate 5 that has a stationary portion 520 in which a pair of electrode plates 500 are respectively adhered to both faces of an ion exchange membrane 510; and an electrolysis tank 6. The stationary portion 520 includes: an insulation property rivet axis 521 that is inserted in a passage hole 503 and a rivet hole 511; and two rivet heads 522 that are formed at both ends of the rivet axis 521 and at least one of them is formed after the rivet axis 521 is inserted in the passage hole 503 and the rivet hole 511, thereby a pair of electrode plates 500 are respectively adhered to both sides of the ion exchange membrane 510.
