PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more surely manufacture an underrun protector attaching spacer by welding even when a length is short.SOLUTION: An underrun protector attaching spacer includes a first end plate 21 of a bracket side, a second end plate 22 of an underrun protector side, and first and second spacer members 23 and 24 of channel shapes having edge plates on both side edges on a main plate. A first subassembly 20A is manufactured by perpendicularly abutting one end of the first spacer member in a material axial direction on the first end plate and applying fillet-welding it. A second subassembly 20B is manufactured by perpendicularly abutting one end of the second spacer member in a material axial direction on the second end plate and applying fillet-welding. The rear surfaces of the main plates of the spacer members of the subassemblies are abutted on each other to subject the edge of the abutted place to fillet welding from the outside, and the abutted place of the edge plate of the first spacer member and the second end plate and the abutted place of the edge plate of the second spacer member and the first end plate are subjected to fillet welding for manufacturing the underrun protector attaching spacer. |
