PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator that suppresses power consumption in a power peak time zone.SOLUTION: A refrigerator comprises: a timer section for measuring time; a control section for controlling operation of the refrigerator on the basis of the time measured by the timer section; an ice making unit for making ice at a predetermined time interval; and an evaporator for generating cool air for cooling a storage space. The control section controls the refrigerator such that the evaporator is defrosted in a time zone excluding a power peak time zone and the ice is made by the ice making unit at a time interval shorter than the predetermined time interval prior to the power peak time zone.
