The device has an impression mold (2) i.e. female mold, for forming a mold to be produced during application of a low pressure. A planar material is pressed at the impression mold by pressure change. The impression mold includes a ceramic material (3), which is gas-permeable by a micropore structure. The ceramic material includes a structure of layers (4), which include a sanding with different grain sizes (7) ranging between approximately 0 to 0.045 mm and/or different oxide types. The layers have a thickness ranging from approximately 0.2 to 10 mm. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a device for molding planar materials.
