PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for uplink carriers to efficiently send feedback information to a base station when UE sends the feedback information on the uplink to support data transmission on the downlink.SOLUTION: An anchor carrier scheme is employed to provide channel quality indicator (CQI) feedback of one or more downlink carriers. An indication is set (504) to identify that a designated uplink carrier is used to convey the CQI feedback. An uplink carrier is selected (506) from a set of uplink carriers as an anchor carrier to convey the CQI feedback. The CQI feedback is transmitted (508) for one or more downlink carriers using the designated carrier.
