The segment (20) has two stator tooth partial sections (22) arranged at opposite ends of an inference area portion (21) that exhibits an arcuate cross-section. The partial sections are orthogonally project from the inference area portion such that a U-shaped structure with a stator groove aperture is formed commonly with the inference area portion. A core element portion (24) protrudes at one of the partial sections opposite to a side of the other partial section in an arrangement direction of the partial sections to form a core element for retaining an exciter coil. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a stator assembly (2) a method for setting a stator assembly.
