An apparatus for transmitting ACK/NACK signal improving demodulation success rate in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing access system, and method thereof are provided to increase the number of channel of ACK/NACK by ensuring an amount of resource in which the ACK/NACK(ACKnowledgement/Negative ACKnowledgement) has to be transmitted. A method for transmitting ACK/NACK signal improving demodulation success rate in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing access system comprises the following steps: a step for determining whether control information for transmitting is ACK/NACK information or not(603); a step for transmitting a corresponding control information through corresponding OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) symbols according to CCFI control information indicating the number of OFDM symbol which is used to transmit the corresponding control information if a decision result is control information which is not the ACK/NACK information; and a step for transmitting the ACK/NACK information by using the OFDM symbols of the maximum number if the decision result is the ACK/NACK information. |
