PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of obtaining information that allows a state of tissue such as normal tissue and abnormal tissue to be discriminated by non-contrast imaging.SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus comprises a sequence control section and an analysis section. The sequence control section executes data collection for collecting data of an imaging region for a plurality of predetermined periods of time having lengths different from one another after the predetermined period of time has elapsed since a tag pulse was applied to a tag region. The analysis section analyzes a change in signal strength in conjunction with the elapsed period of time since the tag pulse was applied thereto by using a plurality of the data collected for the plurality of the predetermined periods of time.
