PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface enhanced Raman scattering unit capable of enhancing the intensity of surface enhanced Raman scattering by a suitable nanogap.SOLUTION: An SERS (surface enhanced Raman scattering) unit 1 comprises: a substrate 4; a fine structural part 7 having a plurality of pillars 11 formed on a surface 4a of the substrate 4; and a conductor layer 6 formed on the fine structural part 7 and constituting an optical functional part 10 to induce surface enhanced Raman scattering. The conductor layer 6 comprises: a base part formed along the surface 4a of the substrate 4; and a protruding part protruding from the base part at a position corresponding to the pillar 11. A gap G is formed by the base part and the protruding part in the conductor layer 6, in which the clearance in a direction perpendicular to the protruding direction of the pillar 11 gradually decreases. |
