PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a difference of an internal pressure between a front side bag portion and a rear side bag portion, maintain the internal pressure for a long time and increase a deployment speed of the front side bag portion.SOLUTION: In a side airbag device 10, when an inflator 22 is actuated, gas generated from the inflator 22 is supplied into a rear side bag portion 24B and is supplied from a communication port 42 into a front side bag portion 24A. Thus, a side airbag 20 is inflated and deployed. Then, when an internal pressure of the rear side bag portion 24B is increased, a diffuser cloth 28 integrated with a partition cloth 26 is pressed against an inner cloth of a bag body portion 24 (cloth located on the inner side in the vehicle width direction in the inflation and deployment state), so as to close the communication port 42. Therefore, even when an opening area of the communication port 42 is widened to increase a deployment speed of the front side bag portion 24A, since the communication port 42 is closed after the deployment of the front side bag portion 24A, a gas flow is shut off between the front side bag portion 24A and the rear side bag portion 24B. |
