PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter exhibiting, irrespective of a thick three-dimensional structure, excellent filtering performance, limited in pressure loss, usable for a long time, and capable of realizing the following important filter functions, i.e., (1) adhesion and adsorption on the surface of a filter component and (2) the effect of a sieving operation in a well-balanced manner by controlling the gap of a filer structure.SOLUTION: A filter includes a composite fiber including, in at least a part of a fiber surface, polyester including a dicarboxylic acid component, 75 mol% or more of which is terephthalic acid and/or its ester forming derivative, (i) metallic salt of sulfoisophthalic acid as a copolymer component, (ii) cyclohexene dicarboxylic acid and/or its ester forming derivative, and (iii) a fatty acid and/or its ester forming derivative, and a hygrothermal adhesive component on the other surface part. The filter has an unwoven fiber structure, and includes a compact to which the unwoven fiber structure is fixed by fusion of the hygrothermal adhesive fiber. |
