A polymerised rosin compound in which the content of a rosin dimer component (A) is at least 80 mass %, and the content of a bifunctional rosin dimer component (a1), represented by general formula (1): ROOC-X-COOR (in the formula, X represents a rosin dimer residue, and R represents hydrogen, or an alkyl group or benzyl group that has a carbon number of 1-5), in the rosin dimer component (A) is at least 80 mass %. The polymerised rosin compound enables the formation of a linear polymer that has a high rosin dimer component content, and a high molecular mass.
