PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink tank in which an amount of ink discharged to obtain an initial negative pressure is small, an ink usable amount in a suitable negative pressure range is large, and smooth negative pressure characteristic free from a rapid negative pressure variation on printing can be obtained.SOLUTION: An ink tank 105 for storing an ink 110 includes a deformable flexible member 103 bonded to at least one face of a tank case and an urging member 112 for urging the flexible member outside, and generates a negative pressure in the tank by deformation of the urging member when the flexible member is displaced according to a volumetric change of the tank. The ink tank also includes resistors 120, 121 which generate a resistance force resisting the displacement of the flexible member due to ink discharge. The resistance force of the resistors becomes maximum when the tank is filled up, and becomes smaller according to the displacement of the flexible member due to the ink discharge. |
