<p>The invention relates to an elevator comprising an open or closed car (2) and an external structure (3), said elevator including a drive unit (4) secured to the upper part of the car, said unit including the motor (6), the transmission chain (7) and a set including at least one symmetrical gear (8) coupled to a guiding belt (9) secured to both sides of the external structure (3). The elevator also includes a surge brake (5) also disposed on the car (2) below the drive unit (4). The drive shaft (11) of the motor (6) is connected to a transmission chain (7) connected in turn to the symmetrical gear (8) by means of secondary shafts (12). The drive unit (4) is secured to the upper part of the car (2) using supporting and bearing bars (13). The elevator preferably includes two symmetrical gears (8) which mesh with two guiding belts (9) and which are positioned symmetrically on both sides of the car (2).</p> |
