The present invention relates to method for measuring a distance in a liquid medium using electromagnetic waves including a step of obtaining the attenuation constant of a liquid medium (a); a step of obtaining the strength of transmitted electromagnetic waves transmitted from a transmission antenna inside the liquid medium and the strength of received electromagnetic waves received in a reception antenna which is placed inside the liquid medium at a predetermined distance from the transmission antenna (b); and a step of calculating the distance based on the fact that the strength of received electromagnetic waves exponentially decreases according to the attenuation constant and the distance in comparison with the strength of transmitted electromagnetic waves (c).
