PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thread for fishing nets with high strength and high specific gravity, which is excellent in wear resistance and adhesion prevention, and a fishing net using the thread.SOLUTION: A thread for fishing nets 10 according to the present invention is formed by stranding a plurality of filaments 1. The filament 1 includes a main filament 1a, and a sub-filament 1b having an average fiber diameter smaller than that of the main filament 1a. A mass ratio of the main filament 1a per unit length of the thread for fishing nets 10 is 50 mass% or more and less than 100 mass%, and a mass ratio of the sub-filament 1b per unit length of the thread for fishing nets 10 is more than 0 mass% and is 50 mass% or less. The main filament 1a is formed of polyvinylidene fluoride fibers, and has a surface with an arithmetic average roughness of 0.003 μm or more and 0.090 μm or less. |
